Mary has the unique capability to listen, to communicate and to formalize a vision of what we, as clients, wanted and needed. Her knowledge of interior design and her vast resources of furnishings, fabrics, color palettes, window treatments, bed coverings and accessories were incorporated in creating our new home.
Casa de la Rosa, our Caribbean home in Belize, is, in a sense, a world of global fusion in color, furnishings and accessories. Mary succeeded in blending together our ideas, her skills, knowledge and resources to create a home, which reflects our many years of travel and former life in Alaska.
Mary has, indeed, created a unique retirement home in which we will “Live Beautifully”.
Mary Wilson has been in our lives for almost four years. Slowly (my pace, not hers) our home has been transformed from monochromatic (boring) to gorgeous. She has taught us that color was OK. Over the years, Mary has gotten to know our likes, dislikes and fears. She has guided us well through all the decisions needed when updating our home. She completely decorated two homes for me and each time delivered quality, thoughtful, and highly creative advice for the different styles of homes. She did not overwhelm us with choices and narrowed them down for us to accommodate our busy professional schedules to make sure the renovations and new design choices moved along quickly but were results we would love in the long term. She was also very considerate of the desires of my two boys and involved them at every level. Mary is extremely talented and I can give her the highest recommendation possible.
She is knowledgeable and creative. She understood my own design sense, which coming from Melbourne, Australia, was a bit different to what is common in Houston, and she adapted her own style. She had lots of great ideas and challenged me at the right moments. Her expertise ranged from sitting on the floor together with yarn samples designing a custom rug together, to visiting art galleries and choosing art work, to offering me great furniture ideas to ponder over. She also pushed her suppliers hard and called in a number of favours to help me get last minute items in time for our move back to Australia.
